Los Gatos, Santa Clara County
Los Gatos means the cats, a name from an 1840 land grant that referred to the mountain lions in the hills above. The town grew around a flour mill built on the creek in 1854 and incorporated in 1887. A miniature steam railroad has carried children through Oak Meadow Park since the 1970s, and Netflix has its headquarters on the north side of town.
